Patient Care Technician

Patient care technician are allied health professionals who works under and alongside doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. They direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. Patient care technicians work in multiple medical departments, including phlebotomy, nursing, respiratory and EKG areas.

Patient care technicians tend to ill and injured individuals.

Their duties include taking vital signs, collecting specimens, performing catheterization and assisting patients with eating, personal hygiene and grooming. They also take notes and make assessments on their care.
