EKG / ECG Technician
An electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) records the electrical activity of the heart. It is used to measure the rate and regularity of heartbeats, the size and position of chambers, signs of heart damage and effects of drugs or devices used to regulate the heart.
During a standard ECG, electrodes are attached to the arms, legs and chest. The patient remains still while the electrical activity is recorded.
